WTCR: Two champs Vernay and Shedden together in WRT Audi

The 2017 TCR International Series champion Jean-Karl Vernay will appear on the grid of the WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup in the inaugural season of the new premier touring car competitions, to confront the 2017 FIA WTCC champion Thed Björk.

It was confirmed today that Vernay will drive an Audi RS3 LMS for Belgian Team WRT which also ran his VW Golf in last year’s TCR campaign. Vernay’s teammate in another Audi would be one more touring car champion, the three-time BTCC champion Gordon Shedden.

Audi Sport announced today that their customer racing department will support two teams in the 2018 WTCR season. The second team would be Comtoyou Racing, which already has experience with Audi car from last year’s TCR season. Audi Sport’s driver Frederic Vervisch will continue his cooperation with Comtoyou Racing while other three drivers would be Aurelien Panis, Denis Dupont and Nathanael Berthon.
