World RX: Peugeot's Davy Jeanney in command at Estering

Frenchman Davy Jeanney, driver of Peugeot-Hansen’s 208 WRX Supercar, wins two qualifying Heats at German round of World Rallycross Championship today at Estering. Two more Heats are scheduled for tommorow and after that 12 of 17 drivers with most points will compete in semi-finals.

Jeanney was quickest in both Heats, collected 100 intermediate points and secured participation in semi-finals. Latvian driver of Olsbergs MSE’s Ford Fiesta Reinis Nitiss is second after two Heats, ahead three Norwegians Tord Linnerud (Volkswagen Sweden), Petter Solberg (SDRX) and Andreas Bakkerud (Olsbergs MSE).

One of the favourites Mattias Ekstrom (EKS RX) was unfortunate today and didn’t finished races, so he will be under pressure tommorow in attempt to reach the semi-finals. Among 18 drivers who competed only for Euro RX points fastest in both Heats wes Tommy Rustad.
