Romain Dumas wins again at Pikes Peak International Hill Climb
Romain Dumas wins the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb for the third time in his career. In the 95th running of the world’s most famous hill climb race, the Frenchman triumphed again in the Norma prototype, same as in the previous two wins in 2014 and 2016. This time, the victorious car was the #30 Norma MXX RD Limited, which Dumas nicknamed ‘Marylin’.
Dumas competed in the Unlimited class. Although he planned to beat his last year’s time (8:51.445) he didn’t suceed due to some technical issues, crossing the finish line when a clock stopped at 9:05.672. On the 20km track with 156 turns, the second-fastest driver was Peter Cunningham in the #42 Acura TLX GT (9:33.797).
