Romain Dumas breaks the overall record at Pikes Peak
Romain Dumas makes history today by setting the new overall record at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in Colorado, USA. The Frenchman climbed to the summit of the Pikes Peak in the #94 Volkswagen I.D. R Pikes Peak electric car for 7 minutes 57.148 seconds, what was sixteen seconds faster than the previous record of Sebastien Loeb.
The record time was, of course, good enough for the victory in the race. It’s the fourth victory for Romain Dumas in the world’s most famous hill climb race over 19,99 km long track with 156 turns. Previously, he won in 2014, 2016 and 2017 in his own Norma prototype.
