Red Bull and Toro Rosso swap drivers before Spanish Grand Prix
Formula One teams Red Bull Racing and Toro Rosso made changes in their driver line-ups for the Spanish Grand Prix. Max Verstappen is promoted to red Bull to drive alongside Daniel Ricciardo whila Daniil Kvyat is sent to Toro Rosso where he will be pertnered with Carlos Sainz Jr.
Kvyat’s future in Red Bull was in limbo for a while and even after some noticeable results he was replace with a Dutch teenager who is considered as the hottest prospect in Formula 1. Kvyat was a Toro Rosso driver at the start of his F1 career so it could said he is demoted while Verstappen get a new opportuinity to show his talent and potential.
Horner: We are in the unique position
“Max is an outstanding young talent. His performance at Toro Rosso has been impressive so far and we are pleased to give him the opportunity to drive for Red Bull Racing. We are in the unique position to have all four drivers across Red Bull Racing and Toro Rosso under long term contracts with Red Bull, so we have the flexibility to move them between the two teams,” said Christian Horner, Red Bull Team principal.
“Kvyat will be able to continue his development at Toro Rosso, in a team that he is familiar with, giving him the chance to regain his form and show his potential,” concludes Horner.
