Rally Estonia will serve once more as the WRC Promotional event
Rally Estonia will serve once more as the WRC Promotional Rally in July 2020 following the huge success of the inaugural event this year.
The Shell Helix Rally Estonia celebrates its 10th edition in 2020. The rally will be held on July 24-26 and will again form a part of teams’ preparations for the following month’s Rally Finland. The rally will take place on the roads of Tartu, Otepää, Elva, Kanepi and Kambja. Rally Estonia will be held a week after Safari Rally in Kenya (July 16-19) and two weeks ahead of Rally Finland (August 6-9).
“There were not so many choices because we see Shell Helix Rally Estonia as a test before Rally Finland and we have witnessed that the drivers who have started in Estonia have been fast in Finland. We have spoken with the teams about the dates too and received the feedback that those are the best possible dates for Shell Helix Rally Estonia,” Rally Estonia director Urmo Aava said.
All four WRC manufacturer teams attended this year’s rally, the biggest autosport event in the Baltics. The winners were Ott Tänak and Martin Järveoja, three weeks ahead of their victory in Finland. It was third win for Tanak in his home event. He previously won in 2014 and 2018.
