Grey skies before the race 1 of the Porsche Carrera Cup Nurburgring weekend were worrying for drivers on the grid. However, drivers optioned to stay on dry tires for 25-minute/17-lap race. The weather was cold but the track was dry.  Phillip Eng, already a 2015 Porsche Carrera Cup Germany champion was on pole position with Sven Muller just behind him and two experienced Carrera Cup and Supercup drivers,  Michael Ammermuller and Alex Riberas in second row.

The start was clean and without any incidents. All drivers stared good with Eng taking the lead and closing Muller before the first corner. Christian Engelhart managed to pass Riberas for fourth position and Christian Zochling moved to sixth position from eighth. By the end of the first lap, Eng moved away from the pack but Muller was just behind him. It was obvious that Muller is as fast as Eng but Eng was choosing a race line close to the middle of the track to block any pass by Muller.

By the lap 7, Nicki Thiim passed Christian Zochling with a controversial move which involved a slight contact from the back. However, on the front, Eng was still chased by Muller with just a few meters between the two cars. As the race approached its end, Eng never lost concentration or pace and Muller was never in a situation of making a move. So after 17 laps, Phillip Eng first saw the checkered flag for the eighth time this season with Sven Muller in second and Ammermuller in third. Once again, Eng showed to the fans why he is the champion of 2015 season since his driving today was very precise and skilled, dominant in every way.
