GP2 Series Abu Dhabi test: Matsushita fastest on final day

Third day of official post-season GP2 Series testing at Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi was concluded with Japanese Nobuharu Matsushita on the top of the classification. ART GP driver was fastest on Day 1 and he repeated the pace on the final day, with the fastest laptime 1.48.313.

On the final day twenty-four drivers were on the track, with Medium Pirelli tyres fixed to the cars. Morning session was interrupted with four rad-flag periods, after Sean Gelael (Campos), Artur Janosz (Trident), Richie Stanaway (Carlin) and Pierre Gasly (Prema Racing) stopped on the track. Mitch Evans was fastest in the morning with laptime 1.48.922.

The second session was started at night time but was quickly stopped when Salvatore Del Plano (MP Motorsport) stalled at the exit of Turn 1. At the re-start, Evans set the early pace, but his laptime was first bettered by Rowland and then by Matsushita who posted a laptime of 1:48.313 which was enough to stay at the top of the timings until the chequered flag.
