Third round of FIA Formula 3 European Championship was held in Pau, France. British driver Jake Dennis (Prema Powerteam) is the winner of first two races and Antonio Giovinazzi (Jagonya Agam with Carlin) won the third race of the weekend.
It was very successfull weekend for Italian driver. The win came after Giovannizi had previously finished third in the Race 2 and second in the opening race, meaning he has now finished in a podium position in all nine races so far in this season’s F3 European Championship.
Charles Leclerc (Van Amersfoort Racing) also enjoyed a successful weekend. The man from Monaco finished runner-up once (R2 and third twice (R1 &R3). Giovinazzi is the leader in championship after three events and nine races. He collected 164 points, fifteen more than second placed Leclerc. Third is Swed Felix Rosenqvist (Prema Powerteam).
The safety car made an appearance in all three races in Pau’s “concrete jungle” – but this failed to knock Giovinazzi out of his stride as he set about extending his lead in the overall standings. Total of 32 drivers competed in third round of Championship. The famous Grand Prix circuit in Monza, Italy, will host the next race weekend from 29 to 31 May.
