European Le Mans Series: Jota Sport wins 4 Hours of Red Bull Ring
British team Jota Sport triumphed at European Le Mans Series race at Red Bull Ring. After 4 hours of racing and 151 laps around famous Grand Prix circuit Simon Dolan, Harry Tincknell and Filipe Albuquerque in #38 Gibson 015S-Nissan wins with half a minute gap ahead #46 Oreca 05-Nissan of Thiriet by TDS Racing. Drivers of second placed car were Pierre Thiriet, Ludovic Badey and Tristan Gommendy.
One lap after the leading two cars were third SMP Racing’s #37 Nissan BR01 driven by Mikhail Aleshin and Ladygin brothers. Fourth was Greaves Motorsport’s #41 Gibson, just three seconds far of the podium. First nine cars in overall standings were LMP2 prototypes.
Tenth overall and first in LMGTE class was Dannish team Formula Racing with #60 Ferrari 458 Italia. Johnny Laursen, Mikkel Mac and Andrea Rizzoli was most successfull in the battle of three Ferraris. Mikkel Mac takes the win in last laps against #55 and #51 Ferraris of AF Corse. One place under the podium are BMW Team Marc VDS squad in #52 BMW Z4 GT3.
AF Corse still achieved victory in GTC class, with #62 Ferrari driven by Stuart Hall, Francesco Castellacci and Thomas Flohr. Two laps behind them were #59 BMW of TDS Racing and #68 Aston Martin Vantage GT3 of Massive Motorsport. Team LNT’s Charlie Robertson and Chris Hoy didn’t have serious rivals in LMP3 class. They won five laps ahead Villorba Corse’s Ginetta-Nissan.
Race at Red Bull Ring was third round of 2015 ELMS season. Next race will be 4 Hours of Le Castellet at Paul Ricard Circuit in September.
