He was born on 15th of May 1996 in Marbella, Spain, and as a 9-year-old began to race karting in Spain. He won a couple of the regional championships until 2007 and later competed in the Spanish KF3 class against some well-known names, including Carlos Sainz Jr. His best result was 6th place won in 2009.

In 2012 Patrick moved to Formula Renault 2.0 Series. The results he achieved in the Eurocup series weren’t impressive. Driving for Koiranen Motorsport he finished 23rd in the championship with just 10 points on his account. However, the results the Alps series were better. Kujala again failed to score a single podium finish but amassed a total of 78 points before taking the 6th place in the final standings and also was awarded Rookie of the Year.

Two seasons in the GP3 Series

Patrick stayed with the Koiranen team in 2013 to race in the GP3 Series. His rookie season was far from perfect even after he appeared in all of 16 races but collected just five points, scoring in the final two rounds at Monza and Yas Marina Circuit, what was enough only for the 20th position in the championship.

At the end of the season Patrick was 14th overall and that was his last year in single-seaters.

Switch to GT racing and double Lamborghini Super Trofeo champion

He debuted in the Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup with the GRT Grasser Racing Team and scored a podium finish in both races in which he has appeared.
