Having scored 9th at Food City 500, Danica Patrick earned herself a sixth top 10 finish, a new Sprint Cup all-time record for female drivers. The previous record holder Janet Guthrie earned five top 10 finishes in 33 starts with four top 10 finishes in 1977 and one in 1978. However, Danica Patrick tied the result at Martinsville Speedsway and notched the record in her 90th race start.

The Stewart-Haas Racing driver earned a top 10 in her first full-time season in 2013 followed by three top 10 finishes last year and has two top 10 results in the first eight races of the season. She’s currently 13th in points and 13th in the provisional Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup standings. She’s also our number one woman in NASCAR.
