The moment when the legend Craig Lowndes was born

Craig Lowndes is definitely one of the best and most popular racing drivers in Australia. He is a multiple V8 Supercars champion and a winner of the prestigious Bathurst and Sandown races and those were the moments when he secured legendary status.

In 1994 young Lowndes, due to circumstances, got a chance to drive at Bathurst 1000. His driving was impressive and he was very close to the victory, but in the end, he had to settle for second, which was an excellent result for a rookie.

After the race, Lowndes absolutely amazed the fans in pit lane when he admitted that his passing move on Bowe late in the race was simply a case of missing his brake marker.
