Chilton happy with the results
Tom Chilton undoubtedly has more than enough reasons to be happy after the WTCC weekend in Marrakech in which he claimed his first Yokohama Drivers’ Trophy in the season and also moved closer to the top scorer Mehdi Bennani and one point behind the second placed Norbert Michelisz.
The ROAL Motorsport driver of Chevrolet RML Cruze TC1, who placed an impressive fourth overall position in the second race in Marrakech said he was aiming to give his best in both races last weekend.
“I am so happy with the results. I love Marrakech and always manage to get on the podium here,” he said.
However, the last weekend wasn’t entirely perfect for the British driver because he had accidental clash with teammate Tom Coronel in the first race.
“It was completely my mistake. I was behind him at a distance of atleast four-cars length and braked two-car lengths earlier than normal. I was extremely apologetic about Tom but very happy that ROAL Motorsport got him back out for the second race and that he had an opportunity to manage a podium for race two. It is unfortunate tha there an incident in race number two prevented him from finishing it,” said Chilton for the official FIA WTCC website.
Next chance to impress Chilton will have at Hungaroring on the first weekend in May and after this success he is waiting new challenge with more confidence.
