Acropolis rally will be held as planned

Despite the ongoing financial and political problems in Greece, the European Rally Championship event will go ahead as scheduled this year.

The Greek Motorsport Federation (OMAE) ( which has done a lot of work to keep the event at international level) confirmed that the Rally of Greece will be held from the 9th to 11th of October as round nine of the European Rally Championship, however the format will be shorter.

OMAE also said that from this year onwards, the event officially returns to its traditional well-known title of the Acropolis Rally, replacing the name Rally of Greece.

“We believe that the State, Federation, Organisations and Sponsors together will contribute to the successful organisation of the Acropolis Rally, which will once again show our country at international level,” said Dimitris Michalakakis, President of the OMAE.
