Mick Schumacher is 2018 Formula 3 European champion
Mick Schumacher is the 2018 FIA Formula 3 European champion! The 19-year-old son of Michael Schumacher and a driver of the #4 Prema Theodore Racing’s Dallara-Mercedes secured his first title in a career at season’s finale at Hockenheimring.
Schumacher came to Hockenheim as the championship leader, finishing 12th in the first race and then second in the second race on Saturday. That podium was good enough to secure a title ahead of Dan Ticktum (Motopark).
The race winners were Guanyu Zhou (Prema Theodore Racing) on Saturday morning and Juri Vips (Motopark) on Saturday afternoon. In the third race, on Sunday morning, Robert Shwartzman (Prema Theodore Racing) scored his second win of the season. Mick Schumacher recorded one more podium by finishing second.
In the final standings of the championship, Mick Schumacher is first with 365 points on his account, 59 points ahead of Dan Ticktum. Robert Shwartzman finished third overall and the best among rookies.
