Davy Jeanney

Davy Jeanney is the French rallycross driver who proved himself on the home soil, winning the 2010 French Rallycross Championship title, but he is still working on his way to success in the international rallycross. He was the runner-up at the 2013 European Rallycross  Championship. In three seasons of participation at the FIA World Rallycross Championship, he won two events in 2015 and finished fifth in the final classification that year.

Davy started racing with Citroen Visa

Davy Jeanney was born on December 6, 1986. He started competing in rallycross in 2005, driving Citroen Visa. The first regional title came in 2006, with Citroen Saxo VTS. The following years, he continued to compete in the national events, debuting at the European Rallycross Championship in 2008, driving Peugeot 206 at the French round.

Best French rallycross driver in 2010

In 2010, Davy became French rallycross champion, driving Citroen Xsara WRC for JSA Competition. With the similar car, Xsara T16 4x4, he entered the French round of the European Rallycross Championship, finishing fourth in the final.

From 2011, Davy's career focused on European competition in the Supercar category, driving the Citroen C4 T16 4x4. In his first full ERC season, Janney scored two podiums, finishing third at Lydden Hill and second in Slomczyn (Poland). After nine rounds, he finished 10th in the points.

2010 French rallycross champion

One rally season wth Citroen DS3 R3T

In April 2010, Davy debuted in rallying, driving Peugeot 206 RC at Rallye Terre des Causses. In 2012, he expanded his rally activities to five events at the French gravel rally championship, driving Citroen DS3 R3T.

His best result was ninth place overall at Rallye Terre de l'Auxerrois, but he also scored two R3 class podiums. His co-drivers were Sylvain Buchet and Stevie Nollet.

Two good seasons at the European Rallycross Championship

In 2012 ERC season, Jeanney progressed to the fourth place in the final classification, after he scored four podiums in ten events. He was closest to victory with two second places at Eurocircuit (Netherlands) and Estering (Germany).

The season 2013 was most successful for Davy at the European championship, as he finished second in the points, behind Timur Timerzyanov. Davy again didn't score any victory, he finished in third place four times.

Inaugural World RX season with two cars

In 2014, the year of the inaugural FIA World Rallycross Championship, Davy had a double programme, competing both in Supercar class of the European and World championships. He started the season with Albatec Racing's Peugeot 208 at Lydden Hill, but after that, he jumped into the cockpit of LD Motorsports' Citroen DS3.

In the European competition, Davy's best result was fourth place in Belgium (Mettet) and he finished 9th in the points. In the 2014 World RX season, Jeanney participated in seven events, finishing in 10th place at Circuit Trois-Rivieres in Canada.

In 2015, Davy won two WorldRX events

Joining Team Peugeot-Hansen for 2015 World championship

For 2015 World RX season, Team Peugeot-Hansen hired Jeanney as a full-time driver of Peugeot 208 WRX, alongside Timmy Hansen. In the fifth round of the championship, at Estering, Jeanney scored his first WRX victory, securing also the first victory for the team.

Later in the season, Timmy Hansen won three times and finished second in the championship standings. Davy was the winner one more time, at Canada's Circuit Trois-Rivieres and finished fifth in the championship, tied up in the points with Mattias Ekstrom. In the Teams' classification, Team Peugeot-Hansen dominantly won the title.

After two World RX wins in 2015, no wins in 2016

For 2016 season, Sebastien Loeb joined Team Peugeot-Hansen, so Davy Jeanney was transferred to the 'second team', named Peugeot-Hansen Academy, alongside Timmy's younger brother Kevin. In ten championship events, Jeanney qualified for the Semi finals nine times but not once to Finals. At the end of the season, he was 12th in the points.

In 2017, after losing a seat in the Team Peugeot-Hansen, Jeanney participated in just one World RX event with DA Racing's Peugeot 208. In 2018, he raced in the French World RX round with his own Peugeot 208.
