Lando Norris is the 2017 Formula 3 European Champion
Lando Norris is the 2017 FIA Formula 3 European Champion! The 17-year-old Carlin driver entered the season’s finale at Hockenheimring as a championship leader with a 72-point advantage over nearest rival, so it was just a formality for him to take some points and to end the third season in a row as a champion.
Previously, Norris was the 2015 MSA Formula champion and then the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup champion in 2016. He also has FR 2.0 NEC and Toyota Racing Series trophies in his hands.
In the first race at Hockenheimring, Norris finished second behind Joel Eriksson (Motopark), who takes second place in the championship ahead of Maximilian Günther (Prema Powerteam), who finished 10th in Race 1.
Carlin’s Ferdinand Habsburg completed a podium in the first race of the weekend. One more race is following on Saturday afternoon and the very last race of the season is scheduled for Sunday morning.
