Seb Morris

Seb Morris is a British driver from Wales, born in 1995, whose greatest achievement so far is the championship title in the 2017 British GT Championship, which he won driving a Bentley Continental GT3 for Team Parker Racing together with Rick Parfitt Jr.

Earlier in a career, Morris competed in different single-seater competitions and Ginetta championships.

Ginetta Junior champion at the start of a career

Sebastian Morris started his career at the age 12 in karting competitions. He was very successful so he progressed to car racing at the young age, entering to Ginetta Junior Championship at the age 14. Driving for Hillspeed team in 2010, he won the Ginetta Junior Winter Series and finished 12th in his first full season of the Ginetta Junior Championship.

Next year, he was a dominant driver in the Ginetta Junior Championship, winning eleven races in a Ginetta G40 for Hillspeed and taking the championship title with a big advantage over second-placed Charlie Robertson. In 2011, he was awarded as the Welsh Young Driver of the Year.

Successful years in the Formula Renault and Formula 4

In 2012, Morris moved to single-seater racing, joining Fortec Motorsports in the Formula Renault 2.0 Series. He won the Formula Renault BARC Winter Series and finished third in the Formula Renault BARC Championship, behind Scott Malvern and Josh Webster. Morris was a race winner five times.

During 2012, Morris was selected as a member of the Motor Sports Association Academy and also named a British Racing Drivers' Club (BRDC) Rising Star.

In 2013, he rejoined Hillspeed to compete in the inaugural BRDC Formula 4 Championship. He was again among the front-runners, scoring one victory and ten podiums. He finished second in the final standings, losing a title to Jake Hughes. As an award for his success, Morris was signed as a member of Caterham F1 Team's racing academy.

In 2014, Morris returned to Fortec Motorsports to drive for the team in the Formula Renault 2.0 North European Cup. After winning two races, he ended a season third in the points, behind Ben Barnicoat and Louis Deletraz.

In 2015, Morris made a step forward on the single-seater racing ladder, joining Status Grand Prix team in the GP3 Series. Without wins or podiums, he finished 18th in the final standings. It was his last year in Formula categories, as he moved to sports car racing in 2016.

Third place in the first GT racing season

Seb Morris joined Team Parker Racing in 2016 to drive the #31 Bentley Continental GT3 in the British GT Championship, with Rick Parfitt Jr as his teammate. Morris scored the pole position in his very first race with the team, at Brands Hatch. In the fourth race of the season, at Oulton Park, he converted pole position into his maiden GT victory.

He was the fastest qualifier two more times until the end of the season, scoring in total one victory and five podiums. He and Parffit Jr ended a season third in the points.

Daytona 24 Hours attempt in a Cadillac DPi

His performance in 2016 earned him the Sunoco Challenge award. The main prize was a drive at Daytona 24 Hours race in January 2017. He was a member of the #31 Whelen Engineering Racing crew in a brand-new Cadillac DPi, sharing a car with Dane Cameron, Eric Curran and Mike Conway.

Morris was leading the race during his stint. At the end, the #31 Cadillac finished in 14th place.

BRDC Super Star became the 2017 British GT Champion

In February 2017, Morris has been announced as a BRDC Super Star. He proved to be worth it. Continuing to drive the #31 Bentley Continental GT3 for Team Parker Racing, he and Rick Parfitt Jr were the race winners three times, capturing the championship title.

During a year, Morris had occasional appearances with other manufacturers in different competitions, such were VLN Endurance Series (BMW), International GT Open (Lamborghini) or Lamborghini Super Trofeo.

In 2018, Morris stayed with Team Parker Racing but his main competition was the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup. He was sharing the #31 Bentley Continental GT3 with Derek Pierce and Rob Smith, scoring two podiums in Pro-Am class and finishing ninth in the points.

In 2019, parallel to his commitments in the Blancpain GT Series, he returned full time to the British GT Championship, driving a Bentley Continental GT3 for JRM Racing.
