First Porsche Supercup victory for Dylan Pereira
The 22-year-old Dylan Pereira from Luxembourg scored his maiden victory in the Mobil 1 Porsche Supercup today at the Hockenheimring, in the fifth race of the season.
The driver of the #3 Momo Megatron Lechner Porsche 911 GT3 Cup shared a podium with Larry ten Voorde (MRS GT-Racing) and Tio Ellinas (Momo Megatron Lechner Racing).
Larry ten Voorde started the race from pole position but he was beaten by Pereira and Michael Ammermüller (BWT Lechner Racing) on the approach to the first corner. Ammermüller, ten Voorde and Mikkel Pedersen (Dinamic Motorsport) collided in the hairpin on lap 4. Ammermüller and Pedersen retired, ten Voorde was able to continue.
Soon after the restart, another incident in the midfield forced the safety car out again before the race was halted due to a heavy rainshower. Because Pereira held the lead ahead of ten Voorde and Ellinas in the last complete lap before the second caution he was declared the winner.
Porsche Junior Julien Andlauer (BWT Lechner Racing) finished fourth and he’s now the championship leader with 67 points on his account, three more than Ammermuller, ahead of the next race at Hungaroring.
