IndyCar Series: Dominant victory for Alexander Rossi at Road America

Alexander Rossi (Andretti Autosport) dominantly wins the REV Group Grand Prix at Road America, the tenth race of the 2019 IndyCar Series. It’s his second win this season and seventh IndyCar victory in a career.

Rossi’s triumph in the #27 Dallara-Honda was one of the most dominant wins in recent time. After leading for the entire 55-lap race, he crossed the finish line with the 28.4391sec advantage over Will Power (Team Penske) in the #12 Chevrolet. Another Team Penske driver and defending champion Josef Newgarden completed the podium.

Newgarden stayed in the championship lead after ten races, just seven points ahead of Rossi.

Graham Rahal (RLL Racing) finished the race in the fourth place, ahead of two Chip Ganassi Racing drivers Scott Dixon and Felix Rosenqvist. Both CGR drivers made great progress through the field, Dixon from the last place after he spun out on the opening lap and Rosenqvist from P18 on the starting grid.

Colton Herta (Harding Steinbrenner Racing), who started the race from pole, crossed the finish line eighth, behind James Hinchcliffe (Schmidt Peterson Motorsports). Simon Pagenaud (Team Penske) and Takuma Sato (RLL Racing) completed the top 10. Twenty-three drivers started the race, only one retired (Marco Andretti).

The next IndyCar Series race would be the Honda Indy Toronto at the Exhibition Place in Toronto, Canada,on July 14.
