Takuma Sato takes his fourth IndyCar victory in a career
Takuma Sato (Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing) wins the Grand Prix of Alabama at Barber Motorsports Park, the third race of the 2019 IndyCar Series season. It’s the fourth IndyCar victory for Sato which he scored after starting from pole position for the eighth time in a career.
The driver of the #30 Honda crossed the finish line 2.3874 seconds ahead of defending champion Scott Dixon in the #9 Chip Ganassi Racing Honda. The Japanese engine was also in the #18 Dale Coyne Racing car of Sebastien Bourdais who finished the race in the third place.
Six drivers from six different teams took the first six positions. Josef Newgarden (Team Penske) was fourth, Alexander Rossi (Andretti Autosport) finished fifth while James Hinchcliffe (Schmidt Peterson Motorsports) ended the race in P6. His teammate Marcus Ericsson finished seventh, what is the best result so far for Swedish rookie.
