Formula 2 at Silverstone: Wins for Luca Ghiotto, Jack Aitken

Luca Ghiotto (UNI Virtuosi Racing) and Jack Aitken (Campos Racing) are the winners of two FIA Formula 2 Championship races at Silverstone, in the seventh round of the 2019 season. Both Ghiotto and Aitken scored their second wins of the season.

In total, Ghiotto now has four GP2/F2 victories in four seasons in those competitions. Saturday’s triumph at Silverstone was his first in the Feature Race. On the other side, Aitken has three F2 wins in his career.

Nyck de Vries (ART Grand Prix) finished sixth in the Feature Race and third in the Sprint Race at Silverstone, retaining the championship lead (170:139) ahead of Nicholas Latifi (DAMS), who was second on Saturday and fifth on Sunday.

On Saturday, the third man on the podium was a rookie Guanyu Zhou (UNI Virtuosi Racing), who started from pole and recorded his fourth podium of the season, finishing every time in the third place.

On Sunday, the winner Jack Aitken and third-placed Nyck de Vries shared a podium with Louis Deletraz (Carlin), who finished as a runner-up for the second time this year. Same as Zhou, Deletraz is still waiting for his first F2 victory.

The next Formula 2 event will take place at Hungaroring on August 3-4.
