BTCC at Croft: Two wins for Jordan, Turkington consistent to stay on the top
Andrew Jordan (BMW Pirtek Racing) triumphed two times and Tom Chilton (Motorbase Performance Ford) was a winner once in the British Touring Car Championship meeting at Croft Circuit, the fourth round of the 2019 season.
It was the second double triumph this year for Jordan after he previously won two races at Thruxton. In total, he won five races this season and 25 in his BTCC career. For Chilton, it was his first win this year and 14th in a career.
Despite five wins, more than any other driver, Jordan is only fourth in the championship after four rounds and twelve races because of a disappointing weekend at Donington, where he recorded DNF in the first race and then missed other two races.
Colin Turkington (Team BMW) stayed in the championship lead after one more consistent weekend, scoring P4, P2 and P6 in three races at Croft. He has 143 points on his account, eleven more than Josh Cook (BTC Racing Honda), who also grabbed one podium at Croft, finishing second in Race 3. The third in the championship is Ashley Sutton (Adrian Flux Subaru Racing), just two points behind Cook.
The next three races will take place at Oulton Park on Sunday, May 30.
