ADAC GT Masters at Oschersleben: Wins for Corvette and Porsche
ADAC GT Masters season kicked-off this weekend with two races at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben. Callaway Competition’s Markus Pommer and Marvin Kirchhöfer have won the first race in the #77 Corvette C7 GT3-R. In the second race, the victory went to Robert Renauer and Thomas Preining in the #1 Porsche 911 GT3 R of Herberth Motorsport.
Corvette’s crew triumphed on Saturday ahead of three Audi crews. Patric Niederhauser and Kelvin van der Linde were second in the #31 Audi R8 LMS of HCB-Rutronik Racing. BWT Mücke Motorsport’s Jeffrey Schmidt and Christopher Haase completed the podium. Ricardo Feller and Dries Vanthoor finished fourth.
Marvin Dienst started the race from pole position in Schütz Motorsport’s #36 Mercedes-AMG GT3, defending his lead ahead of David Jahn in RWT Racing’s Corvette. They built a big gap until the pit stop window was opened and their teammates Aiden read and Sven Barth took over the cars.
Then, with less than ten minutes to go, the rain began to fall. Marvin Kirchhöfer made the biggest progress in such conditions, first having contact with Sven Barth and then overtaking Aiden Read for the lead. Eventually, Read finished the race in the fifth place.
Sixth place in the first race went to defending champion Robert Renauer and his new teammate Thomas Preining in the #1 Porsche 911 GT3 R of Precote Herberth Motorsport.
A day later, the duo in the #1 Porsche won the race ahead of Ricardo Feller and Dries Vanthoor in the #28 Audi of Montaplast by Land Motorsport. GRT Grasser Racing Team Rolf Ineichen and Franck Perera completed a podium in the #82 Lamborghini Huracan GT3.
