ADAC GT Masters: Victories for Audi and Corvette in a visit to Most
ADAC GT Masters left Germany for the first time this season, visiting Autodrom Most in the Czech Republic. The winners of two races are HCB Rutronik Racing’s Patric Niederhauser and Kelvin van der Linde in the #31 Audi R8 LMS on Saturday, and Callaway Competition’s Marvin Kirchhofer and Markus Pommer in the #77 Corvette C7 GT3 on Sunday.
It was the second win of the season for the #77 crew but Patric Niederhauser and Kelvin van der Linde are the new championship leaders after two rounds and four races.
On Saturday, Patric Niederhauser started the race from pole position and converted it into victory, his first in the ADAC GT Masters. For his teammate Kelvin van der Linde, who was ADAC GT champion in 2014, it’s the eighth win in the German-based GT competition.
Saturday’s podium was completed by GRT Grasser Racing Team’s Christian Engelhart and Mirko Bortolotti in the#63 Lamborghini Huracan GT3, and Montaplast by Land Motorsport’s Max Hofer and Christopher Mies in the#29 Audi R8 LMS. Thirty-one crews started the race at Autodrom Most.
On Sunday, Franck Perera was the fastest qualifier in the#82 GRT Lamborghini Huracan GT3, which he was sharing with Rolf Ineichen. They finished the race in the second place, behind Kirchhofer and Pommer in the #77 Corvette. We saw a double podium for Corvette crews as RWT Racing’s Sven Barth and David Jahn finished in the third place.
Patric Niederhauser and Kelvin van der Linde took the fourth place, extending their lead in the championship. The next round of the ADAC GT Masters is scheduled for June 8-9 at Red Bull Ring.
