24H Series: Victory for Car Collection Motorsport at 24H Dubai
Dimitri Parhofer, Christopher Haase, Frederic Vervisch and Rik Breukers are the winners of 24H Dubai, the season-opening race of the 2019 24H Series. They completed 607 laps on the 5.390 metres long Dubai Autodrome in the #88 Car Collection Motorsport Audi R8 LMS.
One more Audi crew climbed to the podium – Mohammed Saud Fahad Al Saud, Michael Vergers, Christopher Mies and Dries Vanthoor finished second in the #7 Audi of MS7 by WRT team, completing 606 laps. The Bohemia Energy Racing by Scuderia Praha crew completed the podium. The drivers of the #11 Ferrari 488 GT3 were Jiri Pisarik, Josef Kral and Matteo Malucelli. They completed 603 laps.
The #63 GRT Grasser Racing Team’s Lamborghini Huracan GT3, which started from pole, finished fourth after recovering from collision damage in the first hour of the race. The drivers of the #63 Lamborghini were Mirko Bortolotti, Christian Engelhart, Rolf Ineichen and Mark Ineichen.
HTP Motorsport’s #25 Mercedes-AMG GT3 finished seventh overall and first in A6-AM class, driven by Alexander Hrachowina, Martin Konrad, Bernd Schneider, Indy Dontje and Brice Bosi. The Leipert Motorsport won the SPX class with its #710 Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo while UAE-based team Duel Racing triumphed in the 991 class with #950 Porsche. MRS GT-Racing took the victory in the GT4 class with its #426 BMW M4 GT4.
In the 24H TCE Series classification, the victory went to the Swiss team Autorama Motorsport by Wolf-Power Racing which runs the #112 Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR.
The race at Dubai Autodrome was the first round of the 24H Series Championship of the Continents. The next race would be the 12H Mugello on March 29-30, the first round of the 24H European Championship.
