World RX: Sebastien Loeb finally at the top podium spot

Sebastien Loeb (Team Peugeot Total) finally captured his first World RX victory in 2018 today at Circuit Jules Tacheny in Mettet, Belgium, following two second-place finishes in the first two rounds of the 2018 FIA World Rallycross Championship.

The rally legend at the wheel of the #9 Peugeot 208 WRX Supercar clinched his second World RX win in a career by defeating Petter Solberg (PS RX Volkswagen Sweden) and his teammate Timmy Hansen in the Final. Three other finalists were Mattias Ektrom (EKS Audi Sport, P4), Johan Kristoffersson (PSRX, P5) and Andreas Bakkerud (EKS, P6).

After two second-place finishes, Loeb finally wins in 2018

The victory in Belgium promoted Loeb from P4 to P2 in the championship standings after three events. The winner of the first two events Johan Kristoffersson leads with 75 points, nine more than Loeb. Solberg is just a point behind Loeb, Bakkerud is further four points down.

The next event on the calendar is scheduled for May 26-27. Silverstone will host the World RX for the first time.
