Jenson Button reached his maiden Super GT podium, 1-2 win for Honda
The former F1 champion Jenson Button has a fantastic start of his first Super GT Series season in Japan. Button finished on a podium in the season-opening race at Okayama International Circuit, together with Naoki Yamamoto in the #100 Raybrig Honda NSX of the Team Kunimitsu.
The race winners are Koudai Tsukakoshi and Takashi Kogure in the #17 Keihin Honda NSX of Real Racing, who started the race from pole position. The defending champions Ryo Hirakawa and Nick Cassidy finished the race in the third place in the #1 Lexus LC500.
In the GT300 class, a victory goes to Yuhki Nakayama and Takashi Kobayashi in the #18 UpGarage Toyota 86 MC. The podium is completed by Tomonobu Fujii/Sven Müller in the #7 D’Station Porsche 911 GT3 R and Takamitsu Matsui/Sho Tsuboi in the #25 Tshuchiya Toyota 86 MC.
