Super Formula: First win of the season for defending champion
The defending Japanese Super Formula champion Hiroaki Ishiura (JMS P.mu/cerumo Inging) takes his first win of the season today in the fourth round of the season at Twin Ring Motegi. The driver of the #1 Toyota shared a podium with two other Toyota drivers, defeating Ryo Hirakawa (Team Impul) by 2.724 seconds on the finish line and Nick Cassidy (Kondo Racing) by 26.454 seconds.
The other points scorers ar Nobuharu Matsushita, Kazuya Oshima, Kenta Yamashita, Naoki Yamamoto and Tomoki Nojiri.
Nick Cassidy, who is celebrating the 24th birthday today, takes the lead in the championship with two more races on a schedule. He collects 27 points, three more than Hiroaki Ishiura and Naoki Yamamoto.
