Thomas Preining dominated in the Porsche Carrera Cup meeting at Sachsenring
The young Austrian Thomas Preining (BWT Lechner Racing) continued his domination in the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland by winning both races in the racing weekend at Sachsenring. Now, he has eight wins in twelve races, ahead of season’s finale at Hockenheimring for two weeks.
In both races at Sachsenring’s 3.645-kilometre racetrack, Preining started from pole. On Saturday, he won a race ahead of Marius Nakken (MRS GT-Racing) and Tim Zimmerman (Black Falcon Team TMD Friction). Preining main rival and teammate Michael Ammermuller started from P2 but missed a podium after a poor start, finishing in the fourth place.
On Sunday, both Preining and Ammermuller defended their starting positions, securing a 1-2 victory for BWT Lechner Racing. Larry ten Voorde (Team Deutsche Post by Project 1) started from P3 and finished in the third place.
At the final two races at the Hockenheimring, fifty points are still up for grabs. The championship will be decided between Thomas Preining (229 points) and Michael Ammermüller (202 points).
