Martin Truex Jr returns to Pocono Raceway's Victory Lane
The defending Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series champion Martin Truex Jr. (Furniture Row Racing) brings his #78 Toyota Camry to the Victory Lane for the second time in 2018 and 17th time in a career by winning the Pocono 400 at Pocono Raceway. It’s his second win in Pocono Raceway’s June race after he triumphed there in 2015.
Truex Jr’s win at the ‘tricky triangle’ came after he stayed out under the last caution, on lap 140 of 160, and then pulled out on the restart. He defeated the second-placed Kyle Larson (Chip Ganassi Racing) by 2.496 seconds. Kyle Busch (Joe Gibbs Racing) finished third, ahead of Kevin Harvick (Stewart-Haas Racing) who led a race-high 89 laps.
Brad Keselowski finished fifth, followed by Ryan Blaney, Aric Almirola, Jimmie Johnson, Joey Logano and Chase Elliott.
After fourteen races, Kyle Busch leads the series by 87 points over Kevin Harvick and 90 points over Joey Logano.
