Kevin Harvick dominantly takes the victory in AAA Texas 500 at Texas Motor Speedway, securing the place in the Championship 4 round of the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs. For the driver of the #4 Stewart-Haas Racing Ford, it’s the eighth win in 2018 and 45th Cup Series win in a career.

Before he crossed the finish line as a winner, Harvick took both stage victories and led for race-high 177 laps in the 337-lap race. Harvick joins Joey Logano, last Sunday’s Martinsville winner, in the title race. Logano ran third at Texas after leading 54 laps, second only to Harvick. The pole-sitter Ryan Blaney finished in the second place at Texas.

Kevin Harvick is a playoffs-points leader but he secured a place at Miami’s finale with a victory at Texas. Ahead of the Round of 8 elimination race at Phoenix, Kyle Busch holds a three-point lead over Martin Truex Jr. The other contenders are Kurt Busch, Chase Elliott, Aric Almirola and Clint Bowyer. There are only two more places in the Championship 4 round.
