Kyle Busch triumphed in a two-part race at Bristol Motor Speedway

Kyle Busch scored his second Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series victory in a row today at Bristol Motor Speedway. The driver of the #18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota Camry has won the Food City 500, defeating Kyle Larson at the finish line by just 0.628 seconds.

Larson was leading for 200 laps while pole-sitter Busch was in the lead for 117 laps during the 500-lap race which started on Sunday but finished on Monday due to a rain delay. It’s the seventh victory for Kyle Busch at Bristol’s 0.533-mile track and his 45th Cup Series victory in a career.

Jimmie Johnson, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Alex Bowman completed the top five, scoring their best results of the season. Earlier in the race, Brad Keselowski won both stages but he dropped to the 23rd place at the end after damaging a car on the wall. Ryan Blaney was the early leader for 100 laps before he crashed out on lap 117.

The next race on the Cup Series calendar is the Toyota Owners 400, scheduled for April 21 at Richmond Raceway.
