Lamborghini Super Trofeo World Final: Altoe, Zampieri dominant at Vallelunga
The great finale of the tenth season of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo series took place this weekend at Autodromo Vallelunga Piero Taruffi. The Super Trofeo World Final consisted of final races in three continental competitions (Europe, North America, Asia) on Friday and then drivers from all continents raced against each other in two World Final races on Saturday and Sunday. 65 cars participated in the event.
The winners of the World Final race on Sunday were Giacomo Altoe and Daniel Zampieri in the #5 Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo Evo of Antonelli Motorsport. A day earlier, Kei Cozzolino and Afiq Yazid in the #211 Lamborghini of Clazzio Racing.
In the Pro-Am class, the winners were Loris Spinelli/Juan Perez (P1 Motorsport) on Saturday and Simon Larsson/Dennis Lind (Target Racing) on Sunday.
On Friday, Giacomo Altoe and Daniel Zampieri have been crowned as European Lamborghini Super Trofeo champions. They won the first race of the final round of the season. In the second race, the winners were Sergei Afanasiev and Shota Abkhazava.
Asian and North American drivers raced together on Friday. The race winners were Kei Cozzolino/Afiq Yazid in Race 1 and Jonathan Cecotto/Trent Hindman in Race 2. North American overall champions are Corey Lewis and Madison Snow while Spinelli/Perez took Pro-Am titles both in Europe and North America.
In the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia, Andrea Amici and Artur Janosz (FFF Racing Team by ACM) secured the Pro class title. The Finns of the Leipert Motorsport team, Mikko Eskelinen and Juuso Puhakka, won in the Asian Pro-Am category.
