Formula Renault at Red Bull Ring: Wins for R-ace GP's Fewtrell, Martins

Max Fewtrell and Victor Martins (both R-ace GP) are the winners of two Formula Renault Eurocup races at Red Bull Ring, in the fifth round of the season.

Starting from pole, Max Fewtrell scored his third victory of the year in the race that was shortened due to a bad weather and lightnings. The race was red-flagged after 13 laps and didn’t reach 75% of scheduled distance so only half of the points were awarded.

Fewtrell shared a podium with Richard Verschoor (Josef Kaufmann Racing) and rookie Lorenzo Colombo (JD Motorsport). The championship leader Yifei Ye (Josef Kaufmann Racing) was 8th.

On Sunday, another R-ace GP driver started from pole and clinched his maiden victory in the series. Victor Martins won the race ahead of Lorenzo Colombo (JD Motorsport) and Max Fewtrell. Colombo received 10-second penalty because of the false start so Christian Lundgaard (MP Motorsport) inherited the third place.

Yifei Ye was fifth in the second race and stayed in the championship lead. He has 124 points after ten races, followed by Lungaard (118) and Fewtrell (109.5). The next Formula Renault Eurocup meeeting is scheduled for July 27-28 at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps.
