Formula Renault: Wins at Monza for Yifei Ye, Christian Lundgaard

Yifei Ye from China and Christian Lundgaard from Denmark are the winners of two races during the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup weekend at Monza.

It was the second round of the season and there are four different winners in four races, after Logan Sargeant and Max Fewtrell triumphed the previous weekend at Circuit Paul Ricard.

After four races, Christian Lundgaard (MP Motorsport) is the championship leader with 68 points, four more than Yifei Ye (Josef Kaufmann Racing). The third places Lorenzo Colombo (JD Motorsport), who scored two podiums this weekend, collected 45 points in four races.

Race 1 podium at Monza

In the first race of the weekend, Yifei Ye converted his pole position into victory, becoming the first ever Chinese driver to win a race in the Formula Renault Eurocup. Christian Lundgaard and Lorenzo Colombo shared a podium with 17-year-old Chinese.

In Sunday’s race, Christian Lundgaard became the fourth different winner in four races after defeating pole-sitter Lorenzo Colombo. Starting eighth on the grid, MP Motorsport’s Max Defourny finished third, scoring his first podium of the season.
