Max Fewtrell (R-ace GP) is the 2018 Formula Renault Eurocup champion! The 19-year-old British driver of the #1 car picked up two fourth-place finishes in the season’s finale at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, securing enough points to take the title in front of Christian Lundgaard (MP Motorsport).

Lundgaard was the race winner on Saturday and finished second in Sunday’s race. The American driver Logan Sargeant (R-ace GP) did the same, finishing second in the first race and winning the Sunday’s race. The third place on the podium was occupied by Lorenzo Colombo (JD Motorsport) on Saturday and Victor Martins (R-ace GP) on Sunday.

“I am at a loss for words… what a season! We started the season really strong before dropping to fifth place in the general classification after Monaco. We had to stay calmwe didn’t panic and continued to work flat out to crawl back. I think that we showed everyone what we are capable of and I would like to thank Christian, who is a stout adversary who pushed me to my limits all the way to the end of the season,” Max Fewtrell said.
