Formula E Championship: Daniel Abt wins Mexico City ePrix
Daniel Abt (Audi Sport Abt Schaeffler) scored his maiden Formula E victory today at Mexico City ePrix, the fifth round of the 2017/2018 FIA Formula E Championship season. He already won this season in the second round at Hong Kong but was disqualified after the race. This time, his win is clean.
Abt has won ahead of Oliver Turvey (NIO Formula E Team) who scored a maiden FE podium in his third season in the series. Sebastien Buemi (Renault e.dams) completed the podium.
Other point scorers at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez are Nelson Piquet Jr., Jean-Eric Vergne, Mitch Evans, Antonio Felix da Costa, Edoardo Mortara, Lucas di Grassi and Alex Lynn. The biggest loser of the race is Felix Rosenqvist who started from pole and led until major technical failure stopped him on lap 15.

After five rounds, Jean-Eric Vergne stays in the championship lead. He has 81 points, twelve more than Felix Rosenqvist. Sam Bird is still third with 61 points, nine more than Sebastien Buemi.
The next event is the Punta del Este ePrix in Uruguay, scheduled for March 17.
