Formula 2 victories for De Vries, Latifi at Spa-Francorchamps

Nyck de Vries (Prema Theodore Racing) and Nicholas Latifi (DAMS) are the winners of two FIA Formula 2 Championship races at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, in the ninth round of the 2018 season.

For De Vries, it’s his third win of the season and the fourth F2 victory in a career. On the other side, Latifi scored his first win in 2018 and the second F2 win in a career.

Nyck de Vries was the fastest qualifier and won the race at Spa

In Saturday’s race, De Vries shared a podium with Sergio Sette Camara (Carlin) and George Russell (ART Grand Prix). On Sunday morning, Latifi takes the win ahead of two championship contenders Lando Norris (Carlin) and Alex Albon (DAMS).

After nine rounds and 18 races, George Russell leads in the championship standings with 188 points, just five more than Lando Norris. Alex Albon is further 22 points behind Albon. Nyck de Vries is fourth with 153 points, eight less than Albon.

Three more rounds are on the calendar. The first is scheduled for the next weekend at Monza.
