F2 wins for De Vries, Albon at Hungaroring, Russell is still on the top
Nyck de Vries (Prema Theodore Racing) and Alexander Albon (DAMS) are the winners of two FIA Formula 2 Championship races at Hungaroring, in the eighth round of the 2018 season. For De Vries, it’s the second win of the season while Albon scored his third victory this year. George Russell (ART Grand Prix), who picked up just one point over the weekend, defends his championship lead.
In the first race on Saturday, Nyck de Vries defeated Lando Norris (Carlin) and Antonio Fuoco (Charouz Racing System). The pole-sitter Sergio Sette Camara finished in the seventh place. On Sunday, Artem Markelov started from pole on the reversed grid but didn’t score points. Alex Albon won the race ahead of Luca Ghiotto (Campos Racing) and Sergio Sette Camara (Carlin).
The next round of the F2 Championship is scheduled for August 25-26 at Circuit Spa-Francorchamps.
