Two wins for ART Grand Prix drivers in Spain's Formula 2 round

ART Grand Prix drivers George Russell and Jack Aitken are the race winners in two FIA Formula 2 Championship races at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, in the third round of the 2018 championship season.

Russell claimed his second win of the season following his triumph in the Baku’s Sprint race. In Barcelona, he started fourth on the grid and fought against Nyck De Vries (Prema Theodore Racing) for most of the race. Lando Norris (Carlin) completed the podium, ahead of Luca Ghiotto (Campos Racing) and pole-sitter Alex Albon (DAMS).

Jack Aitken (ART Grand Prix), Sergio Sette Camara (Carlin), Artem Markelov (Russian Time), Tadasuke Makino (Russian Time) and Antonio Fuoco (Charouz Racing System) also scored points in the Feature race by finishing on positions from P6 to P10.

Markelov had a pole-position on the reversed grid for Sunday’s Sprint race but he dropped to P4 immediately after the start. Jack Aitken had the fastest reaction and moved from P3 to the lead. Sergio Sette Camara started from P2 and stayed there for four laps, then losing a place to Alex Albon and Lando Norris.

The race was interrupted by three Virtual Safety Car periods but the positions of top three drivers remained unchanged, with Aitken, Albon and Norris climbing on a podium. George Russell made his way from P8 at the start to P4 in the end. Other point scorers are Luca Ghiotto, Sean Gelael, Antonio Fuoco and Nicholas Latifi.
