Hamilton wins Hungarian Grand Prix, increased a gap to Vettel

Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) wins the Hungarian Grand Prix at Hungaroring, the 12th round of the 2018 Formula 1 World Championship. He easily converted pole position into his 67th F1 victory in a career and fifth win this season.

Hamilton extends the lead in the championship in front of Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel, who finished second today. Hamilton has a 24-points advantage ahead of the next race at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps.

Sebastien Vettel followas Lewis Hamilton in the championship classification

Kimi Raikkonen finished third at Hungaroring, reaching his 8th podium of the season. In the closing laps, Valtteri Bottas lost a fight against both Ferrari drivers and then also against Daniel Ricciardo, also causing two collisions. Ricciardo started the race from P12, felt to P16 in the opening lap but recovered to finish as the best behind the podium-scorers.

Pierre Gasly (Toro Rosso) finished in the sixth place, ahead of Kevin Magnussen (Haas). Fernando Alonso ended the race in the 8th place on his 37th birthday. Carlos Sainz Jr. (Renault) and Romain Grosjean (Haas) completed the top 10.
