Azerbaijan Grand Prix: Third pole in a row for Sebastian Vettel
Sebastian Vettel (Scuderia Ferrari) will start from pole position for the third time this season tomorrow in the Azerbaijan Grand Prix at Baku City Circuit, in the fourth round of the 2018 Formula One World Championship. It’s the 53rd pole position for Vettel in his F1 career the 216th pole for Ferrari in F1’s history.
Vettel will share the front row with Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), who was 0.179 seconds slower at the six-kilometer long street circuit. Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes) and Daniel Ricciardo (Red Bull) will starts from P3 and P4 respectively. Max Verstappen (Red Bull) was the fifth fastest. Kimi Raikkonen (Ferrari) had the fastest times in the first two sectors but he made a mistake and dropped to P6.
Other top 10 drivers in qualifying were Esteban Ocon and Sergio Perez (both Force India), Nico Hulkenberg and Carlos Sainz Jr. (both Renault). Five-place grid penalty will move Hulkenberg to P14, so Lance Stroll (Williams) will share the fifth row with Sainz.
