Abu Dhabi Grand Prix: Victorious ending of Hamilton's fantastic season
Although he secured his fifth championship title in the Formula 1 World Championship earlier, Lewis Hamilton ended a season with one more victory, his eleventh this year and 73rd in a career.
After starting from pole, the driver of the #44 Mercedes has won the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at Yas Marina Circuit, ahead of his closest rival Sebastian Vettel, finishing the season with an 88-point advantage over Ferrari driver.
Max Verstappen (Red Bull) finished the race in the third place, stealing the fourth place in the championship from Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes), who ended fifth in Abu Dhabi. Daniel Ricciardo was fourth, helping his teammate to take valuable points for better position in the championship standings.
Kimi Raikkonen (Ferrari), who ended the season third in the points, didn’t finish the race today, in his last appearance in a red Ferrari car. Carlos Sainz, in his last race for Renault before switching to McLaren, enjoyed a strong run to the sixth place to help Renault to seal fourth place in the constructors’ championship.
Charles Leclerc was seventh in his final race with Sauber, Sergio Perez (Force India) and Romain Grosjean (Haas). Kevin Magnussen (Haas) completed the top 10, preventing Fernando Alonso to take a point in his last Formula One race before a retirement.
