Paul di Resta converts pole position into his second win at Hungaroring
Paul di Resta (Mercedes) clinches his first win of the season and ninth DTM victory in a career today at Hungaroing, in the third round of the 2018 DTM season. It’s his second win at the Hungarian Grand Prix circuit, he won there also last year.
Di Resta started the race from pole in the #3 Mercedes C63 AMG and lost a lead during the race to another Mercedes driver Lucas Auer, but retook the lead and won with 0.587 sec advantage. Nico Müller (#51 Audi) completed the podium finishing in the third place, what was his best result this season.
Rene Rast (#33 Audi) was fourth, ahead of Edo Mortara (#48 Mercedes), Gary Paffett (#2 Mercedes), Robin Frijns (#4 Audi), Loic Duval (#28 Audi), Jamie Green (#53 Audi) and Dani Juncadella (#23 Mercedes. The best BMW driver was Bruno Spengler in the 12th place.
Timo Glock (#16 BMW), who was leading in the championship standings before the race, didn’t score points, finishing in 14th place. Gary Paffett takes the championship lead after five races. One more race at Hungaroring is scheduled for tomorrow.
