British GT: Double celebration for TF Sport at Snetterton
TF Sport and Aston Martin celebrated a double triumph in the third round of the 2018 British GT Championship season at Snetterton. Nicki Thiim and Mark Farmer won the first race in the #11 Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3, then Derek Johnston and Marco Sorensen triumphed in the second race in the #17 Aston Martin.
Aston Martins were pretty dominant today at Snetterton, taking five out of six podium place in GT3 class. In the first race, Thiim/Farmer won ahead of Jetstream Motorsport’s Graham Davidson and Maxime Martin in the #47 Aston Martin. Jon Minshaw and Phil Keen finished third in the #33 Barwell Motorsport Lamborghini Huracan GT3.
In the second race, three Aston Martin crews occupied a podium. Johnston/Sorensen won a race ahead of Andrew Howard and Darren Turner in the #99 Beechdean Aston Martin. Nicki Thiim and Mark Farmer finished third and added a bronze to their gold from the first race. Even the fourth-placed and fifth-placed crews were driving Aston Martins.
In GT4 class, victories went to McLaren and BMW. David Pattison and Joe Osborne celebrated a victory in the first race in the #56 Tolman Motorsport McLaren 570S GT4. In the second race, the winners were Ben Tuck and Ben Green in the #42 BMW M4 GT4 of Century Motorsport.
