British GT: Thiim, Farmer take one more win for TF Sport

Nicki Thiim and Mark Farmer have won the Silverstone 500, the sixth race of the 2018 British GT Championship season. For a pair in the #11 TF Sport Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3, it’s the second win of the season after they triumphed in the first race of the previous round at Snetterton.

They started the 3-hour race from the second place on the grid, next to the #24 Team RJN Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 of Ricardo Sanchez and Struan Moore. After 85 laps, Nicki Thiim crossed the finish line 3.533 seconds ahead of Phil Keen in the #33 Barwell Motorsport Lamborghini Huracan GT3. Keen’s co-driver was Jon Minshaw.

Jonny Adam and Flick Haigh finished in the third place in the #75 Optimum Motorsport Aston Martin Vantage GT3. Pole-sitters Sanchez and Moore finished in the fifth place, behind Team Parker Racing’s #1 Bentley Continental GT3.

British GT Silverstone GT4 class winner

The #43 BMW is the winning car in GT4 class

In the GT4 class, Jack Mitchell and Aleksander Schjerpen triumphed in the #43 BMW M4 GT4 of Century Motorsport, ahead of Lewis Proctor and Jordan Albert in the #5 McLaren 570S GT4 of Tolman Motorsport.

Patrik Matthiesen grabs the last podium spot in GT4 class in the last lap in the #55 Ginetta G55 GT4 of HHC Motorsport. His co-driver was Callum Pointon.

The championship will resume on July 21-22 when competitors will visit Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps for two one-hour races.
