Blancpain GT Series: Home victory for Aston Martin at Silverstone

The R-Motorsport’s #76 Aston Martin Vantage GT3, driven by Nicki Thiim, Jake Dennis and Matthieu Vaxiviere, has won the 3 Hours of Silverstone, the second round of the 2018 Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup.

The international crew in the British car started the race at iconic the British circuit from pole position, staying in front for 180 minutes and winning the race with a comfortable advantage of 10.947 seconds ahead of the #88 Akka ASP Mercedes-AMG GT3. The drivers of the #88 car were Raffaele Marciello, Tristan Vautier and Adam Christodoulou.

Emil Frey Lexus Racing’s trio of Stephane Ortelli, Norbert Siedler and Markus Palttala scored the maiden Blancpain GT Series podium for Lexus RC F GT3. The #114 car crossed the finish line just half of a second ahead of the #1 Team WRT Audi R8 LMS.

Fifty crews participated in the race. The best in the Silver Cup, and 18th overall, were Gabriele Piana, Hubert Haupt and Abdulaziz Al Faisal in the #6 Black Falcon Mercedes.

The best Pro-Am crew finished in the 20th place overall – Euan Hankey, Salih Yoluc and Darren Burke in the #49 RAM Racing Mercedes. The best Am crew finished in the 25th place overall – Chris Goodwin, Chris Harris and Alexander West in the #188 Garage 59’s McLaren 650S GT3.
