ADAC GT: GRT's Lambo, Herberth's Porsche on the top at Zandvoort
Lamborghini and Porsche crews celebrated victories in two races of the ADAC GT Masters this weekend in the fifth round of the season at Circuit Zandvoort in the Netherlands.
Marco Mapelli and Ezequiel Perez Companc won the first race on Saturday after starting from pole in the #19 GRT Grasser Racing Team’s Lamborghini Huracan GT3. On Sunday, Mathieu Jaminet and Robert Renauer won the race in the #99 Herberth Motorsport’s Porsche 911 GT3 R. For both crews, that were the first wins of the season.
Marco Mapelli scored his maiden ADAC GT Masters victory in his debut in the series, replacing Franck Perera in the #19 Lamborghini as a co-driver to Ezequiel Perez Companc. They won a race with a narrow margin of 0.703 seconds ahead of the #28 Audi R8 LMS of Montaplast by Land Motorsport, driven by Kelvin van der Linde and Sheldon van der Linde. Chris Mies and Jake Dennis finished third in the #29 Audi.
In Sunday’s race, Mathieu Jaminet secured a pole position for him and Robert Renauer, converting it into the first win of the season. Previously in the season, they were on a podium two times. Patrick Assenheimer and Raffaele Marciello brought the #84 Mercedes-AMG Gt3 of AutoArena Motorsport to the second place, 4.889 seconds behind the winners. Klaus Bachler and Adrien de Leener finished third in the #18 Porsche of KÜS TEAM75 Bernhard.
